After the success of his latest album "Soft Power", featuring the hit "Café Com Leite" (3 millions streams) and the remix EP "Soft Power Remixes", Poirier now delivers a 6 track EP of original material. The "Momentum" EP has the Canadian producer diving deep into Afro-House, Afrobeats and Konpa. Continuing from an already established track record of innovative albums and releases, this EP features strong songwriting skills alongside a dancefloor sensibility. It's music for home as well as party.

The EP features three vocal tracks and three instrumental tracks. "Leader" is an Afro House / Afrobeats song that combines a percussive riddim with confident lyrics from Montréal's Angee Wings. Her vocal delivery is reminiscent of Azealia Banks and fits perfectly in the recent Afrobeats wave of artists like Yemi Alade, A-Star and Afro B. The song has been featured in two ads, one in the USA and one in the UK. Angee Wings appears again under her new alias, Ms. Bella, on "Shake Mama", telling everyone to "Call on your mama to shake on this one". On "Teke Fren", a song in Haitian Kreyol that means "take it easy", Poirier collaborates for the first time with Montréal vocalist Waahli. Poirier's composition is a relaxed rhythm with an Afro-Caribbean twist that brings to mind Jamaica and Haiti, supported by a catchy guitar riff on the chorus. "Royal Royal" sees the producer focusing this time on a romantic and elegant vibe inspired by some of the current music from Haïti, namely Konpa and Raboday, with an added touch of Afrobeats to hold everything together. "Royal Royal" feels like a perfect day with your lover that you wish would never end. Closing the EP are two other instrumental tracks - "Domino" and "Momentum". This is Poirier throwing a party, offering excellent Afro House vibes.

With his first album dating back to 2001, Poirier is a prolific, creative and eclectic Canadian producer / musician with a 20 year journey of creating music. Constant in his albums and DJ performances is a desire to build bridges between different languages, communities, and cultures. His open, uninhibited musical mind means that his works bend boundaries, resulting in compositions that mix several styles and eras. He now has produced a total of 11 albums and many EPs with labels such as Wonderwheel Recordings, Ninja Tune, 12k and Nice Up Records. Active in Montreal, his successful monthly dance party Qualité de Luxe is dedicated to African and Caribbean music, attracting crowds for over eight years. Poirier is also the man behind Bounce le Gros and Karnival, parties with legendary status in Montreal nightlife history.
